We were lucky to spend 4 night in this amazing place! Everything about it is incredible from the location to the food and the quietness. Just wonderful. I feel totally spoilt and chilled out.
Lots to do around here also which the staff are more than happy to organise for you. We spent alot of time at the inifnity pool opting instead to rest, sleep and just be in this beautiful setting.
A little hard to find as there was no signpost on the remote road you have to turn off but we managed it in the end. Land has been cleared in the forest with some beautiful buildings created as rooms, a dining area and a sort of open air lounge. A few minutes walk uphill is a beautiful pool with loungers looking out across mountains and valleys.
I visited this property over a long weekend in November with my fiancee and my parents. The journey to this place is a bit tedious but its totally worth it once you get there. We were greeted by the staff with some fresh wild flower garlands and lemon tea. The property had a breathtaking view of the mountains and forestry of Koslanda.
This is not simply a place but a life experience. It is a fascinating drive from any of the main cities in Sri Lanka and once there, you are at home! Quite seriously, the room we stayed was the size of our townhouse in Melbourne. Jonathan and the team are as lovely as they are caring. They will effortlessly make you feel so welcome you will not want to leave. We stayed 3 nights and were so sad to leave. The food (both local and other) was superb, and the garden (now, we didn’t see all 80 acres!) was amazing, with so much wildlife you simply forget where you are. The waterfall walk is stunning and the infinity pool is so appropriately named – you are swimming up to what feels like the end of a beautiful dream. Thank you all for a holiday we will never forget. Yours. Andrew and Katie
We happened to spend one day here. Found through Google maps and got carried away with pictures.
We arrived the place at night, welcomed by manager himself. Staff was very kind and helpful. Food was delicious.
The most special thing here is Sri Lankan ancient architecture. They’ve managed to replicate Kandy era architecture perfectly. You indeed feel like stay in a ancient “Walawwa”( houses where noble lived).
Specially those roof styles can only be found nowadays in old Kandian temples.
One more rare feature here in Living Heritage-Koslanda is the beautiful water fall within the hotel premises. To enjoy this place you should stay at least 2-3 nights. If you want relax rewind yourself this is the place.
we stayed 2 nights there and koslanda is a most idyllic location for the nature lovers….80 acres of very private land with a big jungle…rooms were neat and spacey.Food also really good and reasonable….specially the chicken curry was in super taste…staff was really helpful….
highly recommended who are seeking a peaceful nature place.
The authenticity of the place, the staff, the breathtaking pool and the excellent local food partly from the hotel’s own garden. The hotel is an amazing nest with stunning surrounding nature in the middle of a luxurious forest. We organized our 12 day Sri Lankan tour around the availability of the guest house, and we didn’t regret any second. It was our best and most personal stay on the beautiful island. Thanks to all the staff!
The beautiful pool, the serenity, the wonderful waterfall, the attentive staff, the stunning views. A visit to the private waterfall is a must!
Everything has been well thought out and placed perfectly. The room was spacious and had lots of character with a comfortable bed. A perfect hidden gem getaway, very private with beautiful views and its own forest walk and waterfall makes this a truly magical location to relax and unwind. The swimming pool overlooks a valley with views of the mountains and rice fields. The food served was very tasty. The hotel is a perfect hideaway, not too close to many attractions which made it perfect for what we wanted.
